This simple and lovely haori is probably from the mid 1900s. The haori is made from fine and soft damask silk and it has a woven abstract pattern in rose pink against the black background. The rose yarn was dyed with lacquer and it has a distinguished rich effect. The haori is fully lined with a silk fabric in orange (Japanese red), black, gray, and peach. The design of the lining is a stylized peacock. The haori is in excellent condition.
