Haoris are coats worn over kimonos. Most are lined with colorful, patterned silk fabric. Generally, haoris are worn open in the front and not closed and overlapped like kimonos. This beautiful haori is from Taisho era (1912-1926). The haori is made from fine chirimen damask silk depicted with large floral motifs. The design of the haori uses kiri (paulownia) flowers created using the Japanese shibori technique. The color of the exterior is deep rosy red. The lining of the haori is designed with colorful wheel-like patterns over the red and white checkerboard design background. It is in excellent condition. Dimensions:
