This very rare and charming homongi (semi-formal wear) is probably from the mid to late Showa era (1926-1988). The kimono is made from fine chirimen silk in an elegant light-pink color. It is depicted with a dynamic composition of two large flying cranes, one over the back shoulder and the other one at the bottom (which is very rare), and a karako boy riding on the one crane. The karako boy carries a group of auspicious objects including a gourd, a lucky hammer, scrolls, coral, and so forth. All these design on the garment are hand painted and dyed called Yuzen. The liner of the kimono is fine silk in powder pink color. There is a family paulownia crest in the back. It is in excellent condition.
