This juban (kimono undergarment) is probably from the early Showa era (1926-1988). The juban is made from fine chirimen-silk depicted with a dramatic pattern of chrysanthemums. The exterior color is deep purple and turquoise blue for the outlines of the chrysanthemums. The collar of the juban is covered with floral-texture silk and the juban is lined with fine off-white silk material. The color and design of this juban is rare and it is in excellent condition.
