This very chic-look kimono is probably from the late Taisho (1912-1926) to the early Showa (1926-1988) era. The kimono is made from very fine chirimen-silk depicted with dynamic vertical stripes in eggplant-purple color. In between the bold stripes, there are fine stripes running in both vertical and angle in sage-green, orange, and white. The design of the kimono looks very modern and the vertical design such as this was a very trendy design of the period. The lining of the kimono is made from fine red silk and the bottom of the lining is chirimen silk in elegant lavender color. It is in excellent condition.
