This stunning fukuro obi is probably from the contemporary era (after WWII). The obi was hand-woven from fine silk and the design depicts large pine tree motifs and large carriages (gosho-guruma). The dominant colors on the obi are gold, silver, orange, and purple against the black background. The design on the obi continues over the two-third of the obi and the rest is solid black. The reverse side is also solid black silk. It is in excellent condition. This particular obi is 11 3/4" in width and 168" in length.
