This rare design wedding obi is probably from the early to mid 1900s. The obi was hand-woven from silk and the design depicts large "noshis" (bundles of strips of dried abalone) as an auspicious symbol. The dominant colors you fine on the obi are taupe-like-gold, white, black, and light blue, against the ivory background. It is in excellent condition. This particular obi is 12 1/4" in width and 152" in length.
