OVERVIEW

ITEM# OBI 802
$680.00

This traditional maru obi from the early 1900s possesses such an impressive appearance because its' well woven pattern and the use of gold. We found this obi in Kyoto, Japan and assume that is where the obi originally came from. The pattern may seem to be abstractive yet when you look closely, you can definitely recognize a kiri (paulownia) family crest-like motif along with a diamond shape in the background. The obi is so finely woven and is a highly sophisticated piece. Made from silk. Ca. Early 1900s.
Dimensions: 12.5"wide and 120" long.
