This maru obi possesses such a pleasant elegance despite the bold and dynamic design. The obi is made from silk and the design shows large chrysanthemums and 'gosho-guruma', court carriages. The lovely pastel tones of orange, green, lavender, and mat gold & silver are dominating the surface while the black outlines of the carriages and tree branches also define and sharpen the overall design.
