Notes/Remarks: This clay doll is assumed to be from current Akita in Tohoku region. Many of these types of dolls were originally inspired by the Fushimi clay dolls in Kyoto. Dolls like these were taken home as a souvenir from visiting religious sites. This particular doll is assumed to be a Hotei which is a member of seven happy gods, Shichi-fuku-jin. The condition is very good and there is a cute little girl like figure by Hotei.
